Named after the Hindu goddess of creativity. Archaic's "Devi" focuses on the search for spirituality and higher meaning. The beats and rap styles on this album were a return to form for Archaic after the highly experimental "Dream of Fortified Christ" album. Although the instrumentals are mainly boom bap and mid tempo, he still successfully displayed intense originality. On "Narcissist" Anubis returned to recording for Flesh Eating Records after being incognito for a couple of years. An underground hip hop masterpiece.
