Archaic (as Revolution9)  - "God Complex"  2011

 

 

As you can tell from the cover, Archaic was pretty down and out during the recording of this album. His drug use had gotten out of hand and he was swiftly heading towards rock bottom. Although he tried to not let it affect his music, the tracks on this album reflect his confused state of mind. He changed his name to Revolution9 for the recording of this album and made all the beats as well as layed out all the vocals on his iphone 5s. Half the album's tracks are a hybrid rock/hip hop style, the other half are sample-free house inspired dance beats. He managed to explore a few thought-provoking topics and some songs are very catchy (although incredibly raw). Definitely not his best solo work, but interesting nonetheless.
